How do I charge it?
Two ways. The included USB cable gives a full charge in around 6 hours from any USB port. The solar panel on top charges it from daylight, which is what keeps you going on a longer trip.

Can I rely on solar alone?
Treat solar as a top-up rather than your main charging method. The 6-hour figure is for USB charging; how much the panel gathers depends on how strong the sunlight is and how long it sits out. Charge it fully by USB before you leave and use the sun to extend it.

How long does it stay lit?
Up to 8 hours on a full charge.

How does it switch on?
Pull the lantern open and it lights up; push it closed to turn it off. There's a button as well, so you can use whichever you prefer.

How small does it pack down?
Collapsed it's 13.5 cm tall and 9 cm across — about the size of a coffee mug — and extends to 19 cm when in use. At 350 g it's light enough for a backpack.

Can I hang it in a tent?
Yes. The folding handle is made for hanging from a tent loop or a branch, and folds flat against the body when you're carrying it.

Battery Care

Charge using the supplied USB cable. Do not leave the lantern charging unattended or overnight, and stop using it if the battery becomes hot, swollen or damaged. Dispose of the product in line with local regulations for items containing lithium batteries rather than in household waste.
